Payment Posting

Job Discription

Position Summary : Responsible for the expedient and accurate posting of payments received

Responsibilities/Accountability :

1. Payment Entry: Completes payment entry in a timely and accurate manner including :

  • Posts payments to practice management system (live checks within 24 hours, Online Credit Card payments the next business day, EFT deposits within 72 hours)
  • Records batch totals with date and initials on payment receipt spreadsheet
  • Balances batches and runs transaction reports
  • Verifies all EFT deposits and scanned checks have been posted by month end

2. Properly communicates and documents payment denials in the practice management system and to the appropriate billing representative in a timely manner.

3. Identifies any payments not being paid at the allowed/contracted amount and communicates this to the appropriate billing representative

4. Batches patient statements electronically on a weekly basis

5. Creates invoices for attorney fees and communicates with physician office upon receipt of payment.

6. Department Coverage :

  • Cross trained to provide department coverage in charge entry.
  • Maintains professional knowledge regarding medical / dental billing and coding procedures, insurance carriers, federal programs, etc. Education, Experience, and Cert

Education and Experience Required :

  • Minimum graduation required
  • Minimum experience of 6 months in medical / dental billing.
  • Candidates must be able to work with high volume of work while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills required to operate practice management system (i.e., use Window operating system, conduct Internet searches, communicate by email, etc.)

Account Receivables


Job Description:

  • Responsible for calling Insurance companies (in US) on behalf of dentist/providers and follow up on outstanding Accounts Receivable.
  • prioritize the pending claims for calling from the aging basket.
  • Should be able to convince the claims company (payers) for payment of their outstanding claims.
  • To check the appropriateness of the insurance information given by the patient if it is inadequate or unclear.
  • To make a physical call by following the international norms and applicable rules for confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
  • Escalate difficult collection situations to management in a timely manner.
  • Review provider claims that have not been paid by insurance companies.
  • Handling patients billing queries and updating their account information.
  • Meeting daily/weekly and monthly targets set for an individual.

Desired Profile :

  • Experience in Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management process (will preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage work queue.
  • Team player
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
